Wandering Minds Publishing is a woman-owned and led company founded on the idea of supporting young, up-and-coming authors, regardless of their background and financial circumstances. We donate a portion of our cut of book sales to an organization or cause of the author’s choice.

Founder

Hello, my name is Felicity Anderson. I received my Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Philosophy from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. I had never experienced a philosophy class prior to university, and it gave me a passion for expanding the prevalence and influence of non-cognitive education, such as philosophy, in public education. However, I wasn’t immediately able to envision a way in which I could pursue this goal. Philosophy, after all, is often spoken about as a tough industry for employment. “What are you going to do with a philosophy degree?”.

After graduating from Texas A&M University, I immediately pursued my Master’s in Public Policy from Georgetown University in Washington D.C. Here, I gained a background in statistical research methods, economics, and data analysis tools and methods. During and after my final semester of graduate school, I worked as a policy analyst in a small start-up consulting firm, contributing to various diversity, equity, and inclusion projects across the United States.

While I valued the work I was doing, I felt too restrained by the limitations of entry-level employment. I had too many ideas and not enough room to act. It was during this internal struggle between the path my education had taken me and my desire to contribute more, I finally thought of a way to pursue one of my deepest and longest lasting passions. And that’s how we got here.
